Wild sausage rolls

When we stopped eating meat from factory farms, we especially missed snacks and comfort food. One of these things was the sausage roll. After trying many recipes we found the perfect one.

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Difficulty: Easy


for 8 sandwiches

  • 8 slices (vegan) puff pastry
  • 250 grams of minced game
  • 1 teaspoon sambal
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • pepper and salt
  • 2 tbsp (vegetable) milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon agave syrup


  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C
  2. Mix the minced meat with the sambal and nutmeg in a bowl and add some salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Finely chop the parsley and mix it with the minced meat
  4. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the puff pastry sheets on it
  5. Make 8 oblong sausages from the minced meat as long as the sheet of puff pastry
  6. Now place the sausages on about a quarter of the puff pastry
  7. Mix the milk and agave syrup in a small bowl and brush the small edge next to the sausage with a brush or a rolled-up piece of paper towel.
  8. Now fold the sausage rolls closed and spread the top of the sausage rolls with the mixture of milk and agave syrup.
  9. Bake the sausage rolls in the preheated oven until they are golden brown and done. This takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve neat or with a little ketchup or (vegan) mayo!
